Check out BLEACH* FESTIVAL 2022
The Gold Coast’s much-loved contemporary arts festival is back for its 11th iteration in 2022! Get ready to experience a captivating array of art, live music, dance, performance and culinary events at BLEACH* Festival.
Running from Thursday August 11 until Sunday August 21, BLEACH* is bringing more than 233 artists, 94 performers and 36 events to four main hubs across the Gold Coast.
BLEACH* has always championed investment in new work, and this year is no different.
“We’re proud to support the creation of 14 new works which will premiere as part of the Festival. Making new work is simultaneously thrilling and risky and we hope you join us for the ride.”
Attendees can expect 11 days of pulsating performance, contrasting stories of grand spectacle with the intimate moments that underscore a contemporary Gold Coast.
When it comes to the artists and events, we are well and truly spoiled for choice.
Six artist groups have been invited to practice full-time in-residence at the North Burleigh Hub in the lead-up to and during the festival.
The North Burleigh Hub’s ocean-side location also brings a jam-packed cultural program featuring unique performances, interactive elements, community connectivity, culinary storytelling and fantastical worlds for the young at heart.
The Gold Coast Botanic Gardens will host four evenings of signature outdoor concerts headlined by Opera Queensland and Kate Miller-Heidke.
Those attending events in Miami, Miami Marketta and Burleigh Brewing can expect promenade performances, breathtaking BMX and parkour displays, skating frivolity, electronic music, female-centric storytelling and short films.
Head west to the hinterland for a series of unique performances in the rustically rural sheds of Mudgeeraba, and pop into HOTA, where artists are invited to respond to the works featured in the current exhibition.
There is simply too much BLEACH* goodness to cover, so we recommend jumping online to check out the entire festival program. Here you can book tickets and start planning your way through this unmissable, culture-soaked array of events running from August 11–21.
