Record house prices smashed in ten Coast suburbs

Record house prices have been smashed in ten Gold Coast suburbs in 2021 as outrageous demand for residential property across the region shows no sign of slowing.

From waterfront homes to hinterland retreats, property is being snapped up at lightning speed with sellers achieving eye-watering prices, amid strong inquiry from interstate and overseas buyers.

Suburbs to crack new highs were: Tallebudgera Valley ($5m), Mermaid Waters ($3.41m), Helensvale ($2.33m), Jacobs Well ($2.225m), Burleigh Waters ($2.2m), Ormeau ($2.125m), Advancetown ($1.65m), Kingsholme ($1.52m), Oxenford ($1.28m), and Springbrook ($1.15m).

Realestate.com.au analyst Karen Dellow said the Gold Coast remained one of the nation’s hottest post-pandemic markets.

“The Gold Coast was one of the most in-demand areas of Australia in 2020, and continues to be popular in 2021 for both interstate and overseas property seekers. We’re seeing a lot of search activity coming from New South Wales, which is having a huge effect on property demand,” Ms Dellow said.

“The current combination of high demand, but low supply, has created increased competition for properties along the Gold Coast, with at least ten recent sales breaking records for the highest priced properties to sell in their suburb.

“We can expect records to keep being broken if the property market continues to grow at the current pace,” she said.

Mermaid Waters was 2021’s most recent record breaker, where a stunning new three-level home at 21 Saxonvale Terrace in the family friendly suburb was snapped up by a Brisbane buyer in an “electric” auction attended by 100 people.

Suburbs along the Coast’s northern corridor were top performers.

In Ormeau, a sophisticated dual living property at 3 Mobbs Place was QLD’s most viewed home and sold is less than 24 hours for $2.125m.
